As part of its role as Coordination Centre for the Long Term Conditions and Mental Health Patient Survey Programmes, NatCen has carried out some feasibility studies for potential future surveys of patients.
We have completed a study looking at the feasibility of carrying out surveys of mental health inpatients. The study involved consultation with experts and service users, as well as piloting work in a number of trusts (see MH Feasibility Report). The aim is to implement a survey in 2009.
We have also completed Phase One of a study looking at the feasibility of carrying out surveys of people with Learning Difficulties to explore their experiences of NHS services. The report will be published soon. Further piloting work will take place over the next year.
Finally, as part of the Long Term Conditions Programme, we have completed a study looking at the feasibility of carrying out surveys of people with neurological conditions. The report will be published soon.
